Send Me and Angel
In these trying times, the title of our first collection couldn't ring more true. January has proven to test us all, wreaking havoc and disaster with each passing day. As a Los Angeles-based brand, we try to find a way to work through the pain, slowly absorbing our trauma and the damage in the wake of the Eaton fire. Somehow, even after losing her home and so much more to these flames, our copywriter still managed to capture the essence of the pieces in this beautiful collection. Oh, and it is beautiful—a frothy pink start to this disastrous year, one that my design associates and I have worked fervently on.
Inspired by Cupid, I wanted this year's nod to Valentine's Day to make a giant entrance, a frilly dream world with rococo essence. It had to be lace! I worked for months to create a perfectly structured lace textile that would hold these dramatic skirts and pleats of my imagination, and it does just that. From absolutely jaw-dropping pink gowns, Victorian details and demure boleros, to sexy, slinky date-night dresses, tops and skirts, this collection is one of our most versatile.
Love is magic! When every artifact is stripped away, all that's left is love. We carry so much love for each other, and in hard times we are awakened to the everyday angels all around us. What a remarkable feeling to recognize angels on earth!
The most wonderful thing about love is that even the most far-fetched, cheesy or absurd storylines occur daily, that our search, while sometimes grueling, can often lead us to a love we never expected or remind us of how much love we already have. Love is a beating heart, a hug, a sweeping kiss, a meal shared; love is raw and simple but also can be grand and glamorous! A giant ruffled gown, a sexy little dress, a pair of pajamas, or it can be totally stripped down. But honestly, love is underneath these fabric expressions; our beautiful minds and hearts create the framework to our lives. Love is the people we choose to share our tears with, and the arms we sink into at the end of the day. Love is pink and sparkling and black and daring and full of long stories that make up our lives. Love is home.
Love,
Kim
